Reclast is the only once-yearly osteoporosis treatment. It's given intravenously by a doctor or nurse - a process that takes at least 15 minutes. Unlike pills, Reclast bypasses your stomach and goes through your bloodstream to your bones, fortifying them and making them stronger for an entire year. Because it bypasses the stomach, Reclast is not associated with stomach irritation.
If your doctor's office doesn't give infusions, your doctor can help you find an infusion center. If you like, you can use this tool to see a list of Reclast infusion centers in your area.
