For Proven Fracture Reduction Prescribe Reclast for Patients

For the Treatment of Women With Postmenopausal Osteoporosis. A 5 mg, Once-yearly, 15-minute Infusion of Proven Fracture Reduction.

3-year, multinational, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study
7,736 women aged 65-89 years from 239 clinical centers in 27 countries given a 15-minute infusion of Reclast or placebo infusion once a year for 3 years
All women received 1000-1500 mg elemental calcium plus 400-1200 IU vitamin D supplementation per day

Risk reduction at 3 years*:

70% (ARR 7.6%) in vertebral fracture
41% (ARR 1.1%) in hip fracture
25% (ARR 2.7%) in nonvertebral fracture
