Obtain IV access (use of saline lock recommended for infusion)
Prepare Reclast, open vent cap and prime tubing
Infuse over no less than 15 minutes over a constant infusion rate
Remove IV catheter and dispose of properly

All patients should be instructed on the importance of calcium and vitamin D supplementation. Please refer to Reclast full Prescribing Information for recommendations
In clinical trials, transient postdose symptoms (fever, myalgia, flu-like symptoms, headache and arthralgia) were the most common adverse events
The majority occurred within 3 days of infusion and most resolved within 3 days of onset but could take up to 7–14 days
Treatment with acetaminophen can reduce the incidence of postdose symptoms

Reclast is provided in ready-to-use plastic bottles as 5 mg doses in 100 mL aqueous solution. A single dose should not exceed 5 mg.
